Chioma Omeruah, best known as Chigul, is a Nigerian comedian, singer and actress who is known for her accents and comedic characters. She believes in coming up with original ideas and turning them into performances that are both innovative and extraordinary.
In her capacity as Compere, Chioma has perfected the skill of keeping guests laughing and entertained. She remains alert and attentive as she steers her captive audience through the protocol of different kinds of functions.
Chioma is a polyglot, proficient in English, Ibo, Hausa, French, and Spanish languages. Her command of these languages make her the ideal host for corporate and social events.
On her return to Nigeria after living and working as a teacher in the United States, Chigul debuted on the Nigerian entertainment scene through a series of songs released via the Blackberry Messenger Voice Note platform. Her comedic musical skits introduced catch phrases like “…not gonna be a weiist”, “hello baybay today is valentine”, “chake ya makate”, and “kilode satan” to the Nigerian urban lexicon.
As a seasoned actress, Chioma has appeared on stages in Nigeria and the U.S. To her credit, she played roles in “A Raisin In The Sun”, “The Bald Soprano”, “The Lion King”, and “End Times Like These”. She has also starred in several films which include the Genevive Nnaji produced “Road To Yesterday” and more recently, “Banana Island Ghost” and “Chief Daddy”, the latter which resulted in critical and commercial box office success.
This is what I do.
